Questionnaire results

For my research I made sure that I asked both females and males from the ages 17 to 60 to take part in my questionaire as I knew that I would then have a variety of results to choose from. I also had two different participants who belonged to sub-genres as I felt that this would improve my results and help to determine the target audience for our trailer.

 I have concluded that males tend to watch/ like more Horror films then most women do. 8 males said that they do like horror films while only 3 females said that they actually like watching horror films. There is quite a large difference between these two values which I think will help us to make sure that we are certain of our target audience.

I have also found out that most people will watch a horror film if there is alot of tension in the film and if there is alot of blood. I think that these two results are very interesting as it shows that the people who took this survey have an interest in Slasher films as Slasher films always have alot of blood included. This means that we should defintely include blood in our trailer as it does appear to be very popular.

Two more results where that most people will only watch films at the cinema if the actors are good or the trailer is good. I agree with both of these results as quite often I have been put off a film because the trailer isn't very good, as quite often a trailer will make or break the reputation of a film.
I was a little surprised by this as I thought that word of mouth from friends would be quite high as everyone I know disscusses films (as do I) and so this influences our decision about watching a film or not.
In conclusion I would say that I have some interesting results which are going to make it easier for us to make sure that our trailer is suitable for our target audience.
