Original story ideas
My idea: Meretta Vergette has just come out of an asylum, having been incarcerated due to her breakdown after her best friend Sam died, she started seeing and hearing things. She slips into a coma, and her soul gets dragged into hell and tortured. Sam eventually fins her and saves her but just as they are going towards a safe place, an evil entity drags her back into hell and she is tortured for the rest of eternity. 

Jason's idea : This is set in an Apocalyptic world which has been mostly destroyed due to a virus. Most people are dead and there are only a few remaining. The protagonist  Robin has survived the virus and is searching for a safe place to go. He hears a radio broadcast  about a safe place so he goes to find it. he eventually finds out that he is not the lone survior, but also that there are many people that cannot be trusted anymore.

Tyler's idea: An ancient vow is made between Dante, a vampire and the village that the vampire has an evil grasp upon. A father and son decide to make a fresh start and move to  the village after the mother's death. Just after they arrive, the villagers choose the son to be sacrificed to the vampire so that he will not kill anyone in the village. This is a tradition that has been going on for many centuries and it is the only way they know. The father finds out some information and sets out on a journey to rescue his son from the vampires evil clutches and finally destroy the vampire.

Jacob's idea: The main character is called  Katherine and she is a Victorian Gothic. Because of this she has a large collection of  Victorian items. One day she and her closest  friends Jason Tyler and Jacob decide to do something interesting so they decide to be brave and look around an abandoned hospital that lies just outside of the small town that they all live in. Katherine discovers a Lovecraft pendant within the rubble when they are all wandering around and decides to add it to her never ending collection. Several days later she notices that strange things are happening. It turns out that Katherine is being stalked by something (or someone). Her friends are all murdered around her. Her friends are also dissected and turned into shapeless mounds of unidentified pieces. Katherine suddenly realises that  the pendant she found and picked up is is connected  to an ancient Plague Doctor who was cursed many centuries ago.

Overall Conclusion: After discussing each of the seperate ideas we all decided (as a group)  that we should  use Jacob’s idea for our trailer. The main reasons for this are because the parts in this trailer are suitable for everyone taking part and we already posess all of the props and costumes that are needed due to each of the members having different interests.  We have also talked about locations which are suitable for our trailer, they will only need a little adjusting.

In conclusion, because of these factors it should be easier for us to make our trailer then it would have been if we didn't already have the costumes and props.

Original Film Idea- Individual

Narrative Structure: My film starts with a young girl who has recently come back from a stint in a lunatic asylum. She lives with her family, but knows that they are wary around her. She was admitted to the asylum when she was just 15 because after the death of her best friend Sam, she lost her mind and couldn’t deal with the pain anymore. Her name is Meretta Vergette and she is 18 years old.

She lives in a small village with her parents. She seems like she has come back to her normal mind, but her old problems start to creep up on her with disastrous consequences. She starts having visions again , and seeing shadows creeping towards her and hearing voices. There is nowhere that she can hide; she starts to wonder if maybe her best friend is trying to communicate with her.  One day however, she is sitting by herself in the forest near her house when she feels herself being pulled away mentally by an evil entity leaving her unconscious body on the floor . She is rushed to hospital; no one knows that she is locked inside a parallel universe.  They all think that she is in a self-induced coma which is not the case. She tries valiantly to escape from this world inside her head. She is seeing horrors upon horrors, nightmare worlds, demons. Sam suddenly manages to find  (and rescue her) just as a soul stealer was advancing on her, thus saving her from eternal damnation. Sam and Meretta hug and they are suddenly in a graveyard, we see them walking hand in hand (smiling) towards a tomb from which a bright light is emerging. Sam steps in but just as Meretta is about to, she is grabbed by another demon, she screams but Sam has already disappeared inside and she is dragged away. The film ends with Sam sitting with his head in his hands and a shot of Meretta's body lying alone in the hospital bed, we see the heart rate lines gradually stop. Everything fades to black, but then we see a shot of Meretta screaming surrounded by hideous demons.

Genre: I would say that this is a psychological horror.

Characters: Meretta Vergette 18 (the main character), Paula Vergette 42(the mother), Derick Vergette 56 (the father), Sam Hauxwell 18 (the best friend).

Possible locations: Forest, barn.

Props and costumes: Meretta(costume): Black jeans, dark top and long dark cloak, platforms. Meretta (props): Notebook, pen, iPod, switchblade. Paula(costume): Long skirt, blouse, brogues. Paula (props): Mobile, purse. Derick(costume): Glasses, slacks, plaid shirt and lace up shoes (not trainers). Derick(props): Phone, wallet. Sam(costume): Blue jeans, band t-shirt, converse. Sam(props): N/a.   

Planning
